Newcastle-upon-Tyne: The Great North Museum

Newcastle-upon-Tyne is a lively, friendly and modern city, with a compact city centre and renowned cultural venues such as the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, the Sage Gateshead and the iconic Angel of the North. It is also home to Newcastle University’s Digital Interaction Group, an interaction design and ubiquitous computing research group, whose work focuses on the experience-centred design of digital technology and applied challenges in ubiquitous computing.

The event will take place in the exhibition space of the Great North Museum: Hancock, whose fantastic collection includes a life-size T-Rex dinosaur and mummies from Ancient Egypt, and it also houses a planetarium.

How to get there:

By public transport: The Great North Museum: Hancock is only a five minute walk from Haymarket Metro and Bus stations. Haymarket Metro station is just two stops from Central Station the mainline rail station. The museum is well signposted from both stations.

By car: The Great North Museum: Hancock is just off the Great North Road (B1318). Please note that there is no parking on site. We would recommend travelling by public transport or parking in Claremont Road car park which is a five minute walk from the Museum.
